Virginia System Repository(VSR) stabilization and Modernization Effort

Problem Statement

The disaster support activities that FEMA pledges to offer to the survivors could not be achieved using the legacy applications that run on outdated architecture that have security vulnerabilities which are Non-508 compliant and have performance issues. The need was to develop robust systems that meet the FEMA mission needs of ever-growing disasters and survivors.

Excelicon Solution

A phased approach was implemented that analyzed the As-Is business process, infrastructure, and architecture. Based on the assessment and analysis, Excelicon employed the Agile methodology to define the scalability requirements, modular system architecture, services catalogue based data exchange, and 508 compliance for user accessibility. Excelicon also provide training to Federal stakeholders on the implementation.

Client Benefit

FEMA was able to provide disaster survivors with the assistance needed in their time of need. The program was able to maximize their positive impact on the disaster survivors and meet the Agency’s mission of being disaster survivor-focused.
